New Zealand is not as homogenous as you may think. I work with people from all over the world. Many of them are Hindu or Muslim, and women wearing hijabs is common even here on the less metropolitan West Coast.

Unfortunately, teens in the US today do not have the luxury of working minimum-wage jobs. They are too busy trying to get good grades, SAT scores, and participating in extracurriculars to pad their college application. They can't afford to work part-time if it may compromise their opportunity to go to college.
